Greetings fellow Permakulchies,

The next Pucheen Fayre is taking place on the 19th May in McGirls Bar, Ballinamore, Leitrim.

The day's schedule is as follows:

Films on a big screen...

12.30pm - 1.30pm Extraordinary Nature Of Water 60 mins

You will be guided through forests, rivers, and the global water cycle, revealing insights into water's nature and how it needs to be handled for us to stay healthy. See the effects of nature's amazing vortex motion in water, how to harness clean abundant energy, and how to generate lightning from a fine water jet. Based on Viktor Schauberger's brilliant work with natural energy and water, translateed and written by Callum Coats in the books "Nature as Teacher", "Living Energies" and "The Water Wizard". Viktor (1885 to 1958) made a lifelong study of water, from mountain springs to river flows and highly evolved hydraulics. He earned the name "Water Wizard" by developing a deep understanding of water... the most important life-giving and energy empowered substance on the planet.

1.30pm - 2.30pm A Class Divided - 55 mins

On the day after Martin Luther King Jr. was murdered in April 1968, Jane Elliott's third graders from the small, all-white town of Riceville, Iowa, came to class confused and upset. They recently had made King their "Hero of the Month," and they couldn't understand why someone would kill him. So Elliott decided to teach her class a daring lesson in the meaning of discrimination. She wanted to show her pupils what discrimination feels like, and what it can do to people.

Elliott divided her class by eye color -- those with blue eyes and those with brown. On the first day, the blue-eyed children were told they were smarter, nicer, neater, and better than those with brown eyes. Throughout the day, Elliott praised them and allowed them privileges such as a taking a longer recess and being first in the lunch line. In contrast, the brown-eyed children had to wear collars around their necks and their behavior and performance were criticized and ridiculed by Elliott. On the second day, the roles were reversed and the blue-eyed children were made to feel inferior while the brown eyes were designated the dominant group.

What happened over the course of the unique two-day exercise astonished both students and teacher. On both days, children who were designated as inferior took on the look and behavior of genuinely inferior students, performing poorly on tests and other work. In contrast, the "superior" students -- students who had been sweet and tolerant before the exercise -- became mean-spirited and seemed to like discriminating against the "inferior" group.

2.30pm - 4.00pm Our Brand Is Crisis - 87 mins

For decades, U.S. strategists-for-hire have been quietly molding the opinions of voters and the messages of candidates in elections from the Middle East to the South American jungle. With flabbergasting access to think sessions, media training and the making of smear campaigns, we watch how the consultants' marketing strategies shape the relationship between a leader and his people. Our Brand is Crisis is an astounding look at one group's campaign to elect the President of Bolivia and its earth-shattering aftermath. 4.00pm - 5.30pm The Take - 87 mins

In suburban Buenos Aires, thirty unemployed auto-parts workers walk into their idle factory, roll out sleeping mats and refuse to leave. All they want is to re-start the silent machines. But this simple act - the take - has the power to turn the globalization debate on its head. Armed only with slingshots and an abiding faith in shop-floor democracy, the workers face off against the bosses, bankers and a whole system that sees their beloved factories as nothing more than scrap metal for sale. With The Take, director Avi Lewis, one of Canada's most outspoken journalists, and writer Naomi Klein, author of the international bestseller No Logo, champion a radical economic manifesto for the 21st century

5.30pm - 8.00pm Temporary Autonomous Zone - 101 mins

A night of ontological anarchy and poetic terrorism captured live at the Komotion International in San Francisco. Featuring the last appearance of the elusive Hakim Bey on stage before a live audience as he reads from his unpublished manuscripts. Nick Herbert, who considers Hakim Bey his Sheik, performs his own Quantum Tantric poetry. Robert Anton Wilson rounds out the evening with his RAW witticisms. The whole piece has been video effected to compliment and obscure Hakim Bey's highly protected image. A great combo! These three make an evening of cackles, conflict, confusion and chaos - just the way you like it.

8.00 - 9:30pm - Eclectic Sounds
